Around Here Lately...

I am enjoying some free time and relaxation before Baby Boy Clancy rocks our world, so I have not been keeping up with the blog. Here are some pictures to recap the past few months...

We took a trip to Kentucky to go on the Bourbon Trail with our sweet friends Angela & Steve. 

Wrapping Up 2015

Like most of you, these past few weeks have been so busy and chaotic. My last post was just before our trip to the mountains to celebrate my birthday, and since then I have roasted marshmallows by the fire pit on a regular basis, traveled to a wedding, drank too much at neighborhood festivities, enjoyed time with our family for the holidays, traveled to KC to meet my newest niece (Sadie Kay), enjoyed the abnormal warm weather with our pups, earned my CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), recovered from bronchitis, suffered with terrible back problems ... and the list goes on and on. Here are a few pictures to get everyone up to speed. 

Thanksgiving, Sadie Kay and Christmas deserve a post of their own... so stay tuned! :) 

I plan to do a video montage of our weekend at the cabin. My girlfriends and I love taking funny videos of one another, and Ashley and Lauren sent me their collection from that fun weekend. The montages are simple but very time consuming, so now that things will slow down a bit I hope to create the video. :) 

Can't Keep Up

I can't keep up with the blog because I can barely keep up with life! It has been crazy busy lately, and any spare moment I get is designated for quality time with loved ones or sleep (normally sleep wins!)

My sweet friend Ashley got engaged, and we are so excited for Seth and Ashley as they start their happily ever after! I am looking forward to all of the festivities involved, and I am already planning my work travel accordingly!

I was honored to be in on the surprise, and I am so glad that Ashley loves her gorgeous ring!

I travel a lot for work (more now than ever), and I seem to go to Texas pretty frequently! The last time I went to Houston, I decided to take a walk around the city. It was gorgeous weather, and I am going to try and venture out into the cities I travel to more often. I normally work 15-18 hour days when I am on the road, and combined with the time difference it is hard to find a free minute to explore. I normally end up working in my lonely hotel room and ordering room service for the sake of convenience. 

Valentine's Day was one for the books! I surprised Shane with a trip to the mountains. We had a technology free weekend, and it was just what we needed! No social media, no TV, no work! 

I gave him a bottle of whiskey for his growing collection, and he gave me a 90 minute massage (which is one of my favorite gifts)

We slept late, enjoyed time with the dogs, went shopping in downtown Elijay and enjoyed spending quality time! 

I am not much of a rule follower, but these I can handle! 

It snowed recently which equated to working from home and a 

snowball fight with the boys next door! 

My girls and I got together for 50 Shades of Mays to celebrate Ashley's birthday! 

It was so much fun! 

We went to see 50 Shades of Grey, exchanged gifts and went out to a nice dinner!

Shane's birthday fell on a Tuesday, so I told him to meet me after work so I could surprise him. I took him to Local Three for a bourbon tasting and fancy meal, and he seemed to really like it. 

I wanted to bring him lunch to work that day, but I was stuck in meetings and couldn't get away. To improvise, I ordered lunch and had it delivered to him instead. Not nearly as sweet, but at least it was thoughtful! 

I am so in love with his precious grin! 

Of course we had to take a birthday selfie :) I can't believe he is 28! 

Rocky always lays on top of Polly, and she normally doesn't seem to mind. 

Sometimes, I let him lay on top of me and he will take a nap. It lasts until he gets too heavy or his snoring gets too loud. 

We finally got our fence painted. I haven't snapped a finished picture, but this is half way finished! We hired out this project (which is always my preference even though Shane is so handy) and it turned out really great! 

This is a huge transformation from when we had an ugly deck. and the yard was not level. 

Shane does a great job with all of the landscaping, and he seems to really like doing it! 

We also redid the office recently, but I don't have a finished picture of that either. We rearranged the furniture, bought a new computer with dual monitors and decorated with lamps and a nice upholstered chair. 

I still want to frame all 3 of our diplomas, but Shane could care less about that! Ha... one day! 

Shane recently earned a promotion at work and will need to work from home a bit more which prompted the decision to work on the office. I hope to decorate our master bedroom next!

Shane works so incredibly hard, and he is ridiculously smart! His company is lucky to have him, and I am so proud of his new promotion! :)

This past week, we celebrated the March birthdays at my parent's house. Rowan couldn't be there because she had the flu (poor baby!) but we had a great time laughing and sharing memories around the kitchen table! 

Tina recently emailed me this picture of Mak, and I can't believe how grown up she looks! 

I am very excited to see them both in April! 

The Clancy's Take Kansas

Shane and I had a wonderful time visiting my family in Kansas for Thanksgiving! If you have never been to Kansas, I am sure you are thinking this was a pretty lame trip... but Kansas City is actually a really cool place. The city is very clean, has lots of fun attractions, has zero traffic and best of all my adorable 19 month old niece lives there! 

We elected to drive so we could take the dogs and a chair that Munca (my grandmother) wanted to give to Makenzie. I was nervous about the drive because we would pass right through Ferguson just after a very controversial grand jury decision. Riots and protesters where looting and burning down businesses. We drove straight through without any signs of the aftermath... so I guess I was being dramatic after all :) 

We left around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and we got to Lissa and Jason's house on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30. Jason was working from home when we got there. By the time we showered and unpacked, Lissa got home from work. I was SO excited to see her... I almost cried! It is hard living so far from my sisters! After a glass (or two) of celebratory wine, we all headed to Tina and Justin's house to hang out. We ordered pizza and sat around and laughed for hours.

On Wednesday, Shane and I babysat Mak while everyone was at work. It was a lot of fun to play with her and spend time with her. She let me put pigtails in her hair.

She loved this matching game, and after playing it about 100 times she still wanted "more, more". 

We went for a walk to the corner of their street. It took a while for her little legs to walk that far. She stopped often to pick up leaves and a stick. Kids are so easily amused. When we got back to the house, she wanted to play with "bubas". Shane blew bubbles for her while I straightened up the house. 

After lunch, it was nap time. Shane and Jason went to the dog park with all four dogs while Mak and I passed out. She wouldn't let me put her in her crib, so she fell asleep like this. Once she was asleep, I laid her down and took a nap. I was exhausted!  

Shane colored with Mak. She liked coloring his beard. Haha!

Mak loved her chair from Munca. She doesn't like to sit in the chair, but she did love pushing it around the house like a stroller. Tina touched the chair while she was pushing it, and she freaked out! It was pretty amusing.

I read somewhere that 9 out of 10 girls get their awesomeness from their aunt... seems pretty accurate to me!

On Thanksgiving Day, the boys cooked and we played with the baby. 

Justin snapped these pictures of Makenzie helping him. 

Some of her temper tantrums were pretty epic, but it was very entertaining. I mean seriously... look at this face! Her entire body tenses up and she screams so loud. 

Thanksgiving 2015

These boys love whiskey and bourbon. They got their fair share of taste testing in... that's for sure! Later that night, some friends came over and we played a board game. It was a lot of fun! 

Justin had to work on Friday, but the rest of us went out for BBQ. 

After lunch, Tina and I had sister time while Lissa and the baby took a nap and the boys went to another dog park. It was great to catch up with Tina :) 

That afternoon, we met my Aunt Alison at the airport. She was traveling back to Atlanta from Portland, and had a layover in KC. 

We all took turns trying to entertain Mak. She tried to help a stranger push their suitcase, and she snuck up to another stranger and yelled "Boo!"

Haha! It was really cute. 

After the airport, we headed to a Mexican restaurant for dinner and margaritas.

Makenzie's chore is to feed the dog. 

It takes her forever to fill his bowl with food, but she likes doing it! 

She kept letting him lick this spoon. She would pretend to scoop something from the bowl in Tina's lap and then let Brody lick it. Then she tried to share with everyone. It was really sweet. 

^^ She was very tired at night, but did not want to miss any of the action. 

We were able to snap some really great pictures on Tina's camera before it was time to head home. 

We left around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, and we were home by dinner. 

We were not able to listed to the UGA v. GT game, but we did get updates on our phone. What a great game... too bad the Dawgs lost :(  I bet Uncle Greg was cheering from Heaven! 

I thought about Greg a lot during the trip. The anniversary of his death is coming up, and I miss him very much. Last time I went to KC I rode with Uncle Greg, so the car ride was very nostalgic. 

Rocky sprawled out on the pillow and left Polly barely any room. Poor thing! 

Saturday night, I unpacked and then we relaxed. Sunday I clean up and went to the grocery store while Shane did laundry. Then I spent the afternoon at the spa. It was a wonderful way to ease back into the work week.
