Random Favorites (July 2018)

It has been a wonderful first summer with Canaan Man! We love playing with him outside. At this stage, we mainly spend time outside convincing him to not touch doggie doo doo or to refrain from eating rocks or grass.

Here are some of the special July memories we captured along the way...

Canaan: Eleven Months

Canaan found his bravery a bit before he found his balance and has been wobbling around the house.

Random Favorites (June 2018)

The dishes are piling up, laundry is never-ending, toys are everywhere, the AC guy should be here any minute, I have a handful of errands to run and still have not had lunch -- but Canaan just fell asleep and I am determined to use this pocket of free time to update the blog because I know we will love looking back at this special season of life.

The most efficient way to document everything as much as possible is through the "Random Favorite" updates where I just import all the cutest pictures from the past month and try to remember what all we did. Enjoy!

Canaan: Nine Months

It's official. Canaan has been out of me longer than he was in me, and for some reason that was really hard for me to accept. I felt like the anticipation of meeting him made the nine months of pregnancy drag on for so long that I can't believe that the past nine months went by so quickly.
They say the days are long but the years fly by, and that is so true!

This nine month photo shoot is a true depiction of this stage of Canaan's life. He is always on the move and into everything. He hardly sits still long enough to nurse, and taking a few cute pictures was no different.

Unlike every other month, these picture were taken 2 days late because we were in Rhode Island when he turned nine months, and I wanted to do the monthly pictures with his teddy bear in his rocking chair. Totally a first time mom thing - I know, but I am committed! Haha!

Canaan: Eight Months

This sweet son of ours is so happy all the time! Everyone always comments on how sweet and happy and smiley he is! Oh, I could go on and on with how in love we are!

His seventh months brought leap and bounds of growth! If there was a milestone, he wanted to hit it! It was like our infant became a baby in just a few weeks!

Easter 2018

Canaan's first Easter was so sweet! The Easter bunny brought him a fun basket filled with some practical things and some fun things!

We enjoyed a great church service and festival at a local church with our neighbors and cousin's family, and Easter Day we went to Angela and Steve's for a delicious potluck!

Here are more pictures from our first Easter as a family of 3...

Random Favorites (March 2018)

Every month minute we fall more in love with our sweet Canaan.
March was filled with lots of milestones and memories! It was fun looking back at these pictures while crafting this quick post! This chapter of life is flying by faster than I ever imagined, so it is nice to set time aside to organize these memories so we can cherish them for years to come.

Helmet Head #2

I updated the blog recently about our helmet experience. (You can read that post here!)

Long story short, Canaan outgrew the first helmet before his head was finished reshaping, so we are in the process of getting his second helmet made. Insurance has approved the second helmet, and he got his measurements taken last week. We go on March 12 to have him fitted in the new helmet, and he will be in it until we are satisfied with his head shape. (Hopefully 4-8 weeks)

Random Favorites (February 2018)

Shane snapped this on his way to work one morning.

He looks like such a big boy watching cartoons in Daddy's bed!

Here are more February favorites...

Canaan: Six Months

Half a trip around the sun is in the books for our sweet Canaan, and I can't believe it! I love seeing the world through his eyes! He is always SO happy. He loves his Daddy, but is definitely a Mama's boy at this stage! I have been so blessed to stay home with him, and I have really enjoyed watching him learn and grow!

Random Favorites (January 2018)

We are already more than halfway through February, and I am just now posting his 5 month pictures and the January update! Enjoy!

Canaan: Five Months

At 5 months old, we are squeezing our big boy into 6-9 month clothes. Cue the tears!
I recently went to a consignment sale and bought 12 month clothes! On the same day, I packed away the tiny baby bottles, and he started walking backwards in his walker.
We also fed him rice cereal which was his first meal that I didn't make.
Well technically it was mixed with my milk, but still...you know what I mean.
I may or may not have cried at dinner that night. Shane is always so excited about his new milestones, and I lean more on the side of nostalgia.
Canaan rolled over from belly to back several times on his own, and I told Shane I am ready for baby # 2 now! GIVE ME ALL THE BABIES! Why did I wait so long to be a mom?
It is the best thing everrr!

Look at that belly!!

Helmet Head

Just when we thought Canaan couldn't be any cuter, he had to get a helmet. And really, what is more ridiculously adorable than a bobble head baby with a helmet on? To be honest, it kinda sucks.

Canaan: Four Months

At four months old, our big, chunky boy measured 24.5 inches (23%). He weighed in at 15 lbs 2.5 oz (46%) and his (crooked) head was 17 inches (91%).
He got a helmet at 4 months old to round out his head... more on that later!

Canaan: Three Months

I am WAY behind on posting these pictures, but the good news is they were taken on time!
