July 4th Weekend

July 4th weekend was so much fun! Shane and I celebrated our 4 year "Facebook official" anniversary by going to an incredible Mexican joint near downtown Acworth. We were also celebrating my new job!

After dinner, we went to the liquor store to stock up for the weekend. :)

We spent a majority of the weekend poolside. Shane had to study (of course), but I was thankful he could take a break and spend time relaxing for a little bit. Some neighbors invited us to their house for a cookout and fireworks, and we really enjoyed spending time with them and meeting new neighbors.

Tina emailed me these pictures of Makenzie. She has grown so much in the past year! I am looking forward to spending time with her at the beach next week!

At the cookout, we met a few new people. This is Kennedy (who looks so much like Rowan). She LOVED the fireworks! How adorable is her expression?

My sweet Jennifer is expecting a littler girl, and I enjoyed celebrating her at her baby shower. It was great to meet her family and catch up with her. She has mentored me in so many ways, and I am forever grateful for our friendship!

Polly loves rolling in the grass and soaking up the sun!

Shawna, Kelly and Sean came over for a cookout! It was great to see them and catch up! The dogs gave Sean lots of kisses!

I love the way Shane adores his sisters!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks between starting a new job and getting ready for our two vacations. I am going to try and post more often, but free time is pretty rare these days!

July Already?

We have had a great couple of weeks, and boy have they flown by! This time last year, we were renting the house we sold while waiting to close on our new house!

Shane spends a majority of his time studying for his CPA exams and doing yard work. He works so hard and is so diligent with his studying!

The past couple of weekends have been a good mix of being productive and relaxing, and spending time with family and friends. We are pretty simple and just enjoy being in the company of our loved ones! We met some new neighbors, and we feel so blessed to live in such a great neighborhood!

We are looking forward to the long weekend, and we have 2 upcoming vacations that will be a ton of fun!

Here are some recent random pictures of our day-to-day life.

Shane normally gets home from work before I do, and I love coming home and cuddling on the couch and talking about our day.

My parents came to visit. My mom and I had a girls day. We went out to lunch, got a yummy Starbucks, got our nails done and went shopping. Later that night, we went on a double date to a great Italian restaurant in downtown Acworth.

We went out with some friends one night to celebrate Stephen's birthday! We had a great time... probably a little too much fun ;)

Shane snapped this picture last weekend. He took a study break and I took a break from food-prepping and cleaning the house. Oh how we love our fur babies!

Puppy Love

Shane is so great with all animals... especially our dogs! When he moans and grunts, Rocky will mimic the same sounds. This short video does not do it justice... but it is still very cute!

Notice how Polly comes up and does a howl with no problem, and as soon as Shane pets her she walks away like her job is done.

Here is another cute video of the dogs crawling. It is hard for them to do it well on the hardwood floors. They love ice!

I love my girls!

My bestfriends and I went to the Sam Hunt concert last Thursday. As always, we had an absolute blast! The AC went out at the bar, but we didn't care. It was fun catching up with them and having a fun night out on the town. We have seen him before, and we are going to see him in Athens to celebrate my birthday in November. :)

Somehow I talked Shane into painting my right hand.

The. people. who. matter.

The night before we all texted one another using Sam Hunt song titles.

The girls asked if the could crash at our house after the concert.
We can't #leavethenighton bc Shane will be sleeping
We will have to turn the #speakers down
Haha... no #houseparty
Thanks for letting us stay so we don't end up in a #copcar
No problem. #comeover

a (long overdue) post

Things have been pretty steady. Shane is constantly studying for the CPA, and I have been really busy at work. Sometimes our weekends are so busy, while other times we are able to sleep in and relax. Here are some updates from the past few weeks.

Recently we took the dogs for a walk and ended up at the tennis courts. Rocky loved chasing the ball and playing fetch.

He was exhausted after playing and could barely walk home.

The dogs drank out of the hose.

My sister texted this picture to Shane. How cute is Makenzie? She is getting so big. We are looking forward to seeing her at the beach soon!

Paul and Ashley FINALLY got married!

We weren't able to go with the neighbors to the mountains one weekend because we were just too busy. Cass sent me this picture of the boys. They were disappointed we couldn't make it.

Shane and I go on a date every Monday. A few weeks ago, we went down a road we normally don't turn down, and I saw a bunch of wildflowers. On the way home, Shane went back down that road so we could pick some together.

We went to Grayson to visit my parents and celebrate my brother's birthday. It was fun playing with Rowan and Isaiah!

One evening, the dogs were so hyper. They were playing the room and being really rowdy. Shane laid down on the floor, and they both licked him all over before finally laying with him. He whispered to them, and they both finally calmed down. I am still in awe of how great he is with animals.

I was making dinner one night while Shane walked around the kitchen playing guitar and singing. Not a bad view if you ask me :)

Yesterday morning I  made breakfast for us. We normally eat breakfast bars, but occasionally I will make him a nice breakfast.

After Shane studied, he met me at the pool for a few hours, and we enjoyed spending some time together.

Rowan's Ballet Recital

Yesterday after work I headed to Grayson to watch Rowan in her ballet recital. She was so excited when she heard Aunt C was coming to see her. When I arrived at her daycare, she was super happy to see her huge Dora balloon and flowers. I helped her pin her hair, and of course she wanted some lip gloss! She showed me some of her dance moves, and I met some of her little friends. She seemed so excited about her big performance.

But then... the music started and all eyes were on her. Bless her heart, she was miserable up there. She turned her back to the audience and just stared at the wall. We cheered for her and called her name, and she just shook her head.

At one point, David even went in the corner behind the dance teacher and started doing the dance moves in hopes of Rowan copying his moves, but she was not going to change her mind.

In honor of Throwback Thursday, I found these baby pictures of Ro. ^^^

Rowan and Sabrina

Flowers and balloons :)

Showing off her lip gloss

I did manage to get one little smirk out of her.

During one of the songs, she came up to me and asked for a hug, and said she needed more lip gloss. I told her if she did her dance moves then she could have more lip gloss, but that didn't work either. Haha!

When we were saying goodbye, she said she wanted to see Polly. She LOVES our dog! Haha :)

Update Through Pictures

Here are some pictures to keep you updated on what has happen in the past few weeks.

Munca gave Shane and I this beautiful pie safe (above) and the vanity (below). I used to sit on the small stool and play makeup and dress up at the vanity when I was a little girl. I always told her growing up that I wanted to have it one day, and she gave it to us as a wedding gift. We finally picked it up last weekend, and she also let us pick out another piece of her gorgeous "early attic" furniture. Every piece has a story, and we are so thankful to display these gorgeous family pieces in our home.

After a long stressful day at work, I love sitting on the back porch with the dogs.

My girls and I went to the Brave's game on Friday night. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time!

I love my sweet Kayla!

Haha... typical.

Group shot.

Being silly.

^^^ This picture was too sweet not to share.

My friend got married in Covington this past weekend, so Shane and I drove by our first house on the way to the wedding.

^^^ My hot date!!

We wish Nicole and Justin all the best in their beautiful life together! They are an incredible couple, and he wedding was fabulous!

Shane and I dropped by Munca's on Mother's day to see everyone and drop off this desk that Shane refinished.  Then we headed to Brooks to spend the day with The Clancy side :)

This is the barn that I blogged about recently.

Kelly and I had a blast decorating this cake!

Shane and I took Monday off to spend some time together. We have been unbelievably busy lately, and it was nice to have some quality time and relaxation. He gave the doggies a bath... they look miserable in these pictures. Haha!

My friend Beth is changing jobs... I will miss her so much!

Sorry for the random updates... I will try not to wait so long between posts next time!!
