Happy New Year!
I got off work early on New Year's Eve and enjoyed having New Year's Day off!
I have been pretty stressed lately, so I spent a lot of time cleaning on New Year's Eve.
I have cleaned the pantry, office, our closet, and I organized my craft room and got rid of a few trash bags FULL of things.
I went on a shopping spree last week, but first I cleaned out my closet. I tried on every piece of clothing I own and if it didn't fit or I wouldn't wear it then I donated it. Now I have a closet full of things I will actually wear!
Shane and I put away all of the Christmas decorations and put some things up in the attic. It was such a rewarding feeling to get the house back in order.
Once Shane got home from work on NYE, we showered and got ready for dinner with Cass and Bryan.
It was nice to spend time with them and catch up.
.
I snapped a few pictures before we headed to their house.
Bryson gave me this Rainbow Loom bracelet. It was so sweet. He was so excited to show us his "grown up tooth". Jackson liked showing Shane the TV that Santa brought him.
After dinner at their house, we walked with them to the new section of the neighborhood for fireworks. It was fun, but I was pretty cold so we didn't stay long. We were also invited to another neighbors party that night, and we saw them on the way back from the fireworks.
We walked with them to their house and spent time hanging out with everyone. I was exhausted, and barely made it to midnight.
Somehow I manage to stay awake long enough for a New Year's kiss, and then we headed home.
I slept in on Saturday, and then started cleaning some more. Shane went to run some errands, and when he got back it we almost time to go to a football party at a neighbors house. (Can you tell we have an incredible neighborhood filled with amazing friends?)
At some point, I snapped this cute picture of Rocky with his favorite toy.
I made a few appetizer to take to our neighbor's party, and these brownies were a big hit. I made a box of brownies (like the recipe on the box calls for), and pour the mix over an Oreo with peanut butter and nutella spread on it. Yum!
I needed to get the nutella and Oreos out of the house before the cleanse I start tomorrow. My friend and I are doing a fruit and veggie detox for 7 days. It should be interesting because 1. I have never done a cleanse or detox before, and 2. My normal diet is pretty much "eat whatever the heck I want plus some more." Haha! This cleanse is not a permanent diet by any means. It is meant to help jump start healthy habits and cut down on cravings. It also helps shed water weight. I will not be working out during the cleanse, but starting on Saturday I will start back at it.
2015 is already off to a great start!
We had so much fun with all of our neighbors,
and we look forward to making many more memories this year..
I am headed to the grocery store after work today to stock up on fruits and veggies.
Wish me luck!
