Baby Day!

My sweet Gavin,

We will be meeting you soon! I can’t wait to see you. I wonder if your eyes will be brown or blue!

I’m a little anxious, but determined to stay strong and calm for you! I pray to fully trust the medical team and our Creator throughout this process of bringing you into the world!

Baby Gavin - 34 Weeks 2 Days

I'm killing time before the much anticipated growth check today, so I decided to post a quick update while I have the chance. I just dropped Canaan off at preschool this morning, and can't help but think it could be the last time I see him before he is a big brother. It sounds dramatic (especially since I am only 34 w 2 d), but it is very possible... a little too possible for my comfort level.

Canaan's First Day Of Preschool 2019

Canaan started a preschool two mornings a week, and he is so excited! We found a great program at a local church, and I know he will really thrive in a learning environment with friends!

Grow Gavin, Grow!

We are 34 weeks pregnant today, and I. AM. SO. GRATEFUL! The doctor told me there must be a lot of people praying for us, and he is right! I have been on bed rest for over 12 weeks now, and we have surpassed all expectations thus far! We had a tiny hiccup last week with some abnormal blood flow to Gavin's brain,

Sweet Little Gavin - High Risk Update

5/29/19
Our sweet little Gavin is just that... little. My regular OB noticed that he was measuring on the smaller side at the 20 week appt, so she referred us to the high risk perinatologist. We made an appointment with the same doctor we saw when we were high risk with Canaan. Ugh - our pregnancies are so dramatic!

Baby #2 - First Ultrasound Images & Gender Reveal

This season of life is so full of love, and I can't believe we are blessed with another baby on the way! A BOY!

We had a big scare in the beginning, but with God's grace everything seems to be going well now!  We had so many ultrasounds in the beginning because I was bleeding, so we actually saw "it" about 10 days before this tiny little blob and there was nothing but a "yolk sack" --- no "fetal pole" is what they told us ... as if no baby had formed! Our next doctor's visit we saw these images and it was so crazy to witness "it" there in place of the void we had previously seen.

Here are the first pictures of our second sweet little boy!

Halloween 2018

Halloween was a lot of fun - Canaan wasn't quite old enough to really enjoy it, but the hand-me-down costumes we had from friends made for some pretty cute photo ops!

I'm so cute it's spooky!

Random Favorites (November 2018)

I love me some November, y'all - not just because it is my birthday month, but it's pumpkin spice lattes and pretty fall colors. It the kickoff of the holiday season and just a beautiful time of year in Georgia. This past November was extra special because I turned thirty, and my loved ones pulled out all the stops!

19(ish) Months - In This Season Of Life

Canaan is a little over 19 months now, and in this season of life, we love Bob The Train and the first 20 minutes of Tarzan. Canaan's knees are always skinned up from his adventures, and he is obsessed with his Daddy! He asks all day about Daddy, and even yells out for "Shane" like I do! Haha! His face lights up when he notices a picture of Daddy around the house and he points and smiles!

Canaan: ONE YEAR

Our sweet Canaan turned ONE on September 3, 2018 - and we couldn't help but celebrate! We had two separate birthday parties for him because we just have so many special people in our lives!

Catching Up With "Keeping Up"

I am so bummed that I haven't made blogging more of a priority, but it just always seems to fall to the bottom of the list when sleep and quality time with loved ones are so important - plus the chores and errands and commitments that come along with running a household. By the time I put Canaan to bed

Random Favorites (October 2018)

what a sweet shot of canaan - his little hairs are brushed and his eyes look so bright. i think it is sweet he is looking at me instead of the camera. i use to call him a hillbilly when he only had 3 teeth like this, and now looking back it looks so precious!

Pregnancy #2 - Just Wait And See

It's Valentine's Day 2019, and according to my handy dandy fertility app, I am about 8 weeks pregnant - but the doctors were still left scratching their heads when they looked at the hormone levels and the measurements at our last appointment. They said "this is definitely not textbook", and I have a feeling that will be our description of you! I can already tell God broke the mold with you!

New Year, New Post.

The first two weeks of the year have flown by already, and I am so glad I finally made time to hop on here! My goal this year is to live with intention. It's nothing drastic, but I just want to be(come) mindful of... well everything. Now it does sound drastic, but really I just want to be aware of time spent. It flies by so fast that I am always left wondering where it all went.

I've found that you don't find time to do anything, you have to make time. Time with your friendships, with your obligations and with yourself doing what leaves you feeling fulfilled.

Blogging does that for me sometimes - so here I am! It can be therapeutic to jot down your thoughts or relish in captured moments along the way. It can also become burdensome, or inconvenient, or overwhelming... and that is when I take a step back. As always, there are a million other ways I could spend my time, but I cherish these little blog sessions clicking away at the keys in the front corner room of our home. I plan to organize our ridiculous number of photos and document some of our favorite memories before time really takes off!

I pray this year is filled with love, hope, joy and plenty of adventure! I strive to remain ever mindful of my blessings and can't wait to create new memories this year!
