He mostly takes 5-7 steps at a time but has walked clear across the living room on a few occasions. At 10.5 months, he took his first tiny stumbling steps in our living room when I pulled his walker just out of his reach. Each day since then he has mastered new form with his hands in the air for balance and the biggest grin on his face. You can tell he just feels to proud being mobile upright!
He can't stand up on his own without pulling up on something, but he rocks all 22.8 lbs of weight to try and build the momentum to stand. The past few weeks have been filled with lots of face plants including busting his poor little swollen teething gums on the coffee table, but he is undeterred. I work with him to practice walking in socks and shoes so as soon as he is really walking he will be able to walk around in public. No one needs bare feet at the grocery store!
Knowing the next monthly photo shoot will be of a one year old is so unbelievable. Like I still park in the "New or Expecting Mothers" parking place... how could I possibly have a ONE YEAR OLD?! I finally sent the invites to his birthday parties after procrastinating due to my denial. We are looking forward to celebrating our sweet boy!
Just last night, Shane said this has been his favorite stage so far. Canaan is learning so much and love interacting. He is so much fun to be around, and he brings us both so much joy! Once I am finished nursing, I have no doubt he will be a Daddy's boy! He love himself some Dada, and I don't blame him one bit! He has no idea how lucky he is to have such a devoted and loving Dada!
It is nearly impossible to get Canaan to sit still, so this photo shoot was quick and crazy just like our Canaan. Enjoy!

This wooden spoon deserves a blog post of its own seeing as though he has fallen so deeply in love with it! He took it out to dinner with us about 3 weeks ago, and it has been with him constantly since then. The pool, the bath, the car, the gym, the backyard, the grocery store ... if we go, spoon goes!
