2015 Christmas Card

One of my favorite traditions is sending Christmas cards to our friends and family. It forces me to keep and updated address list and also enables us to stay in touch with those we love.

This year was our 4th married Christmas (OMG!! Can you believe it?!) You can take a look at our past cards here.

Shane and I took these pictures at Papa's 85th birthday party, and the picture of Rocky and Polly was a random snap on my phone. Even though it isn't professional, it is exactly how Rock-o and Paw lay together all the time. Rock always lays smack dab on top of Polly :)

Christmas 2014

Shane and I had a wonderfully relaxing Christmas break, and here are some pictures to recap the moments.

Shane and I both had to work on Christmas Eve, but we got off early which was a nice treat. Shane cooked an amazing BBQ bourbon recipe for dinner, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement! It was delicious!

On Christmas morning, we slept in and then opened presents. Shane got a bottle of Pappy and some golf stuff, and I got a new Kate Spade wallet and money to go shopping. I made french toast and bacon for breakfast. Yum!

We watched movies and enjoyed the Christmas tree.

It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the gorgeous weather. We went for a run and then took the dogs to the new section of our neighborhood. They love being able to run free and explore!

Then it was back to being lazy again. It was a no makeup kinda day!

Shane had to work the day after Christmas, so I went shopping for about 6 hours. It was so fun! I got new shoes, clothes for work and a few other cute outfits. That night, we did a little more shopping and then went out to dinner.

On Saturday, I ran some errands and got the house ready for our party. We had some friends over to hang out and we played White Elephant with gifts you got for Christmas. Russell was so excited to get this body cycle!

I got a tea set that had this mug inside that describes me perfectly. Oh how I love my Mama!

I was so glad Candace was able to come hang out! She is so so sweet, and I am so grateful for our friendship!

Lauren had to work, so we had to FaceTime her to tell her we love her!

Shane and Candace are such sweet friends.

Towards the end of the night, Rocky cuddled with me and it was so sweet! Isn't he just precious?!

I am so obsessed with our dogs!

Polly got some cuddle time, too!

On Sunday, we watched movies and took naps all day long, and it was perfect! I am looking forward to another short week at work with light traffic! I will start traveling again soon, so I am enjoying these last few low key weeks around the office.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with the people they love!

Weekend Update

This past weekend was very enjoyable. We relaxed on Friday night after a long and hectic work week.

Shane has been sick lately, so I brought the dogs downstairs on Saturday morning so he could sleep in as late as possible. I caught up on some TV shows and made a grocery list while the dogs cuddled with me.

Here they are both crammed on the couch sleeping.

Rocky was sleeping on my lap, and when he heard Shane coming down the stairs he made this face like, "Uh oh! We are going to be in trouble!"

Next thing I know, they stole my spot. Haha... typical!

After a few hours of relaxing, I went to run some holiday errands and buy groceries. When I got home, we put up the Christmas tree.

I wanted to put it up before we left for our Thanksgiving trip so we would come home to Christmas, but Shane refused to bust out the Christmas decorations before Turkey Day. Ever since then, we have been so busy that we never found the time to decorate. A few weeks ago, I found a few spare minutes to put all of the decorations out except for the tree, so I was so excited to finally decorate it this weekend. Now our house feels so cheerful!

Saturday night we watched movies and spent some quality time together.

On Sunday, we headed to my Aunt and Uncle's house to celebrate with my Dad's side of the family. It was so fun playing with my cousin's adorable children.

How cute is Hayes?

I got to love on my sweet sidekick, Rowan.

Then my immediate family headed to my parents house to exchange presents.

That is where I found this picture. My hair was so dark. I think I was a freshman in college... but maybe a sophomore.

We all had a little sinking spell after a busy day. I snapped this sweet picture of David and Rowan taking a nap before we opened gifts.

Shane and I go on a date every Monday unless I am traveling, but last night I had a business dinner I had to go to at King & Duke. If you have not had "The Duke" burger... it is an absolute must!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
I will do a 2014 recap just like I did last year, and I plan to do this fun survey again, too!

Stay tuned...

Weekend Update

This weekend was filled with emotions and family. My sisters and their husbands stayed at our house for the funeral and for the Denmark Family Christmas at Papa and Peggy's house. Shane and the boys had a lot of fun... maybe even too much ;) I LOVED having my sisters at my house, and I was able to spend a lot of time with Makenzie, too!

Lissa and Jason drove in on Wednesday. I made chili for dinner, and we laughed and caught up on our busy lives. After work on Thursday, I came home and we all ate dinner together. T & J's flights was delayed, but it worked out so I wan't rushed to go get them from the airport.

Friday morning, Justin (the chef of the family) made breakfast, and it was delicious! It was nice to all eat together :) The funeral was very peaceful and beautiful, and we all spent time together at Alison's house later that night.

Saturday we had the Denmark Family Christmas at Papa and Peggy's house. I snapped a bunch of pictures on my phone!

Shane and I LOVE playing with these two

My cousin Mike met Mak

Sam wanted to Facetime his mommy to find out where she was!

Reese is so much fun!

These two are so goofy!

This is the first time that all of my siblings, our spouses and the grandkids were together since Mak was born! How fun!

We took A LOT of family pictures!

Mak was such a trooper!

We played Guess Who!?

Rowan loves holding Makenzie!

Reese wanted to snuggle!

Papa said he couldn't go to college when he was younger, so he bought a sweatshirt! Haha... he is too funny!

Sunday, we slept 'till 11:00! We were so exhausted from all of the weekend plans. We went to visit baby Luke for the first time, and then went to see Nana who is still in rehab. After visiting Nana, we headed to Cindilu and Bill's house where Shane cut down some trees for firewood. The low today is 5 degrees, so I am thankful we will have a warm fire after our weekly date night!

Christmas 2013

We had a wonderful Christmas. We both got off work early on Christmas Eve, which gave us time to visit Greg before going to church. We offered to pick Munca up for church, and we arrived my parents were with us to surprise her.

After a beautiful candle light service at Munca's church, we went to Waffle House. Yummy!

Christmas morning we slept in till about 10. We enjoy sleeping late when we get the chance. After opening our stockings and presents, we relaxed and spent time with one another. Shane helped me make Mac N Cheese and a fresh salad to bring to dinner that night. Later that afternoon, we went to visit Nana who is recovering from a stroke. Bless her heart.

That evening, we celebrated with Shane's side of the family at Shawna and Matt's house. It was so great to spend time with everyone!
