Weekend Update

We had a great! It was good to spend some quality time together! Friday night, we ate a crockpot meal and watched a RedBox movie. I went to bed after the movie because I was exhausted, and Shane stayed up watching some of his shows.

I wasn’t able to sleep in at all this weekend because my body is so used to waking up at 5:30. I was able to relax on the couch each morning and catch up on some of my recorded shows which was nice. We ran errands on Saturday to prepare for hosting Thanksgiving at our house. Shane made the mistake of getting our BJ trial membership in his name with his picture, so now he is stuck going with me. He went to Wal-Mart with me too even though I warned him Saturdays are crazy and it would be even busier since it was the weekend before Thanksgiving, but he was a good sport and spent a majority of the time looking at guns and picking out the turkey he is making.

We went home and he put together the fire pit that I bought with some of my birthday money while I unloaded a TON of groceries.
We packed the car full of groceries for the week and Thanksgiving supplies

That night, we invited our next door neighbors over to watch the GA game and make s’mores. They have 2 sons that we just love. It was a lot of fun! We ate pizza and enjoyed spending time with them.

After Skydiving on Sunday, we went through the Wendy’s drive-thru, and somehow Shane agreed to watch The Vow with me. We cuddled with the dogs on the couch which was a nice treat for them because we rarely let them get up there!

Sunday evening we folded some laundry and got ready for the work week ahead.
We are very excited to host Thanksgiving at our new house this year and have both sides of our family (that live in GA) under one roof!

Skydiving

I can’t even begin to describe how INCREDIBLE it was to skydive. A huge thank you to Shane for not only arranging for me to do the jump, but for agreeing to every upgrade to make sure it was the ultimate experience. I will never be able to explain how grateful I am for your support of my crazy bucket list dreams! Thank you for making it possible for me to dream with my eyes open and live life to the fullest!
We arrived at the skydive location early (as always), so I wasn’t surprised when I was assigned to Load 1. After signing my life away and watching a DVD, it was time to wait for my name to be called over the speaker. Shane was so sweet to upgrade the video package and upgrade to the higher altitude so my free fall would be 60 seconds long from 14,000 ft. instead of 30 seconds from 10,000 ft. I think it made all the difference, because from the time the plane took off ‘till my feet touched ground it was only about 15 minutes… and it goes by FAST, and by fast I mean 120 MPH!!

My tandem instructor was hilarious. His sarcastic demeanor made it impossible for me to be nervous. On the way up, I kept looking at his wrist to see the altitude and asking, “How much longer?”, “Are we there yet?” He went through some instructions and at the end of reciting them all, he said, “…and if you forget all of that just have fun!” J
I was the second jumper, and when I saw the girl jump ahead of me I realized that her instructor is the one who actually jumped. She was pretty much just strapped at his will. I asked JJ if I could be the one to count us off and make the leap, and he was cool enough to agree. He was very surprised that I wasn’t nervous at all, and he even asked “Do you even care about your life at all? You aren’t even nervous!” He said most people are at least a little nervous, especially on their first jump. Haha… not me!

I remember facing out of the plane and saying, “Ready, set… JUMP!!!!!!!!” In the DVD you can see me lunge down and leap as far out as I could! On the way down, I kept saying to myself to stop looking at Leslie (the one filming) so I could soak up the view, and I am so glad I did.
Once JJ pulled the parachute, we were both laughing hysterically and yelled, “It is so cold!” It was -10 degrees. I remember looking down and realizing just how far 2.7 miles is.

After I landed, I ran to Shane and gave him a huge hug! We watched other divers for about an hour while we waited on my DVD.  Here are some pictures…
My view just before the jump. 2.7 miles above ground!

Ready...

Set...

Jump!!!!

I had to put my hand over my mouth to breathe

"It's cold!"

The Big Two Five

Tuesday I turned 25! So many people have asked if I feel old yet, and my response is that I am too young at heart to ever feel old!

I had to work a long day at work, but all of my worries went away when I walked in the door to a dozen GORGEOUS roses!

Shane found an incredible Italian restaurant in downtown Acworth. The food was delicious and the wait staff was incredible. It was pretty chilly outside, so we didn’t walk around the town, but we definitely plan to go back. It was so fun to chat over a few drinks and spend time with one another!

We have a no-phone policy during meals, so I was surprised when Shane was on his phone during dinner. After about a minute of being on his phone, he told me to check my email.

When I opened my email, I saw a confirmation of purchase for skydiving! This is the one thing I asked for, and something I have been dying to scratch off of my bucket list.

When we got home,  he sang “Happy Birthday” to me while holding the cutest little mini cake.

Needless to say, this was my best birthday ever! I can’t wait to see what this year brings J

Celebrating #QuarterCentury With My Girls

A few months ago, some of my favorite girls in the world came to the house for a girl’s night. We planned to paint and drink some wine, but we got to talking and laughing so much that when we looked at the clock at 10:00 p.m. we hadn't even picked up a brush! We decided then and there that we would always have a girl’s night on the calendar!

We busted out the iPhones and November 9th was the first date that worked for everyone. Since that was right near my birthday, I decided to make it a full on slumber party with all of my best friends! All of my favorite girls in one room was my birthday wish!

We met at my house and drank and ate some appetizers before going to Taco Mac. We had a blast sharing the stories of the first time we all met one another. We laughed and finished each other’s sentences like the soul mates that we are. It is such a blessing to have all of these strong, confident, crazy, hilarious, loud, God-loving girls in my life! Some of my friends weren't able to come, but there is always next time!

Thank you from the bottom of the most grateful heart for spending your Saturday night with me!

Sarah was just 10 days from her due date! We are so excited to meet Baby Luke!
She is LITERALLY all belly!

My boo thang be cray cray!
